Fungal Infection

Fungus refers to a germ that lives in all humans. It’s a harmless germ in most cases but some common types of fungal infections include:

  • Athlete’s Foot: Appears between the toes but can sometimes be found at the bottom or sides of feet as well as under the toenails.
  • Jock Itch: Associated with sweating, friction and the direct rubbing of skin on skin which causes rash. This is typical in the groin and upper thigh usually of males but females are occasionally affected as well.
  • Candida: A yeast, which is similar to a fungus most often shows in the skin around nails and soft, moist areas around openings of the body. One common type of candidia infection found in woman is a yeast infection.
